Summary:
Max wants a furry pet, but he cannot have one. His big sister Emma is allergic to fur. But Emma can get a strange pet. On her birthday her parents take her to the pet store where she can pick out a pet. They suggest a bird or a fish but she has fallen in love with an anole, a small lizard. Now Emma and Max must learn how to take care of Stranger the anole.
Response and Reaction:
An enjoyable easy reader, this book will be enjoyable for the target audience. Not everyone is able to get a typical pet due to allergies, but there are alternatives. The illustrations are fun and brightly colored.
