Summary:
Vivi loves the color pink and she is on the quest for the perfect pink. She finally finds it in a beautiful pink bride doll in a shop window. She wants that doll more than anything else. But she can’t afford it. Vivi is going to save and save and save to get that doll and even will do chores around the neighborhood. Hopefully the doll will still be there when she is ready to buy it.


Response and Reaction:
This is one pink book. Luc Melanson’s illustrations use pink undertones so that even a crisp fall day is tinted pink. Many children will be able to relate to Vivi, for who the grass is always “pinker” when comparing her things to her friends. She learns a good lesson at the end about getting what she wants.
