Summary:
Sadko the poor musician has caught the attention of the Tsar of the Sea. His music has pleased the Tsar and his guest and the Tsar has rewarded him well. But when he travels to the bottom of the sea to play for the Tsar, his music causes a great storm on the surface above. Sadko must think of a way to escape in order to save the people above.

Response and Reaction:
This beautiful folktale is accompanies by the breathtaking illustrations of Harvey Chan. The folktale is excellent for reading aloud and the pictures are large enough for sharing. The Tsar is an impressive figure, but it is enjoyable to see him outwitted.
