Summary:
Charlotte’s summer isn’t starting out too well. With the announcement that her favorite teacher is leaving, she thinks that she has nothing to look forward to next year. That is until ttuM comes into her life. The stray dog only response to backwards such as “tiS” and “yatS” and has one Charlotte’s heart. But on a family vacation, Charlotte is afraid that she will use ttuM forever.

Response and Reaction:
At times this book is confusing. It is implied in many places that Charlotte has a psychic gift, but that thought is never fully developed or dealt with. The idea of a dog only understanding back talk is confusing. Children may enjoy these whimsical elements.
