Summary:
There is nothing that the animals on Stolski’s farm want more than to bring home the Stolski Cup. But they haven’t won it in 50 years. And with their best player out of the game due to an injury, it looks like they never will. But with a new goalie and plucky Little Pete on the ice, there may yet be some hope. The third period is a nail biter, but they might be on their way to the greatest upset in Stolski Cup history.


Response and Reaction:
This is a fun book about a not-so-friendly hockey rivalry between farm animals and the local fun animals. Even though they are the underdogs, the Stolski farm animals never give up. This is a great book for kids about sportsmanship, team work and perseverance and a must have for any young hockey player. Bill Slavin’s illustrations are filled with humor and really bring the characters to life for the reader.
